Max studies with various artists as often as possible. Artists with whom he has painted include Jerry Jordan, Grant Macdonald, John Encinias, Chris Morel, Don Ward, Joan Hughston, Barbara Bartels, Ken Auster and, most recently, Dalhart Windberg. 

Max paints in oils and his preferred subject matter includes landscapes, sunsets, and adobe architecture. His work is on display year-round at Concho Gallery located in the landmark Cactus Hotel in San Angelo, Texas.  Call for appointment 325-374-4000.

His works have been exhibited in several regional and juried shows including invitational shows at the Panhandle Plains Museum in Canyon, Texas, and the Taos Art Museum in Taos, New Mexico. His works have also been exhibited at the Red River Valley Museum in Texas, and the Grand Bohemian Gallery at El Monte Sagrado Living Resort & Spa in Taos, New Mexico. His art has been featured in the Names & Numbers telephone books of Santa Fe, Espanola, Las Vegas, Taos, and Los Alamos. Max is also a member of the prestigious Oil Painters of America group.

The journey for Max took him through many life stages including time spent as an art collector, art dealer, and finally, artist.  Max was a Financial Counselor for many years which afforded him the opportunity to pursue his passion for art as a collector.  Max is married, has three grown children (and several grandchildren) and enjoys a full life of family, friends, art, golf, and music.  He and his wife maintain homes in San Angelo, Texas and Taos, New Mexico.
