Max's art was featured in two major shows in Taos, New Mexico during 2009 and 2010. His Summer show was a two month event at the Taos Trading Post. The Winter show was a four month exhibition at El Monte Sagrado (part of the Kessler Collection of luxury hotels).

The Concho Art Gallery in San Angelo exhibits his work on a continual basis. In addition, he regularly participates in various charitable events including the San Angelo Symphony, Taos Art Museum, San Angelo State school, Ambleside school, and the Stribling Art Show for the benefit of the West Texas Rehab Center.

This elegant affair is the primary fundraiser for the Milicent Rogers Museum in Taos. Max's painting, "Behind Adobe Walls", was purchased by a couple from Florida.

Golfing with President Bush

September 14th was indeed a red-letter day in my life as I was privileged to play golf with George W. Bush. Some of you may remember him - he was President - surely you read about it - it was in all the newspapers.

Rounding out the foursome was Carolyn Creekmore of Dallas, an amateur golfer who wins a lot of championships.  The lady can play!!  And my great and good friend Kathy Whitworth, a living legend who has won more golf tournmanets than anyone who ever played the game.

We had a good round of golf, a nice lunch, and a huge amount of fun and fellowship.

My drive home to San Angelo from Dallas gave me plenty of time to reflect on the good fortune in my life. The Good Lord has blessed me with health, a great family, wonderful friends, golf, music, art - and time to enjoy them all.

My hope is that I will never take these things for granted and never cease being grateful.

Russian Night in Taos
Location: Taos Art Museum
Event Dates: 8/1/2010 -

The Taos Art Museum is located in the former home of Nicoli Fechin, a master painter from Russia who lived and worked in Taos during the 1930's. The principal fundraiser of the year is this gala show and auction. "Little Red Barn on Crabapple Lane" sold above the retail price after spirited bidding by several collectors.

The highlight of the evening for Max, however, was his painting being awarded BEST OF SHOW!
